Bail and RUI basics
This website provides general information and telephone numbers. It is not legal advice.
After being arrested or interviewed, you may be released on bail or released under investigation (RUI).
Bail means you are released but must return to the police station on a specified date. Conditions may apply. Breach of bail can have consequences.
RUI (release under investigation) means you are released without bail conditions. The investigation continues and you may be contacted later.
A solicitor can advise you on bail conditions and what to expect. If you have concerns, speak to a solicitor.
